Nepal home - stay

Duration : 8 day(s)

Home stay transforms a simple holiday into a deeper, more memorable experience as you share stories, food and laughter with a local Nepalese family at the start and end of a trip that also offers treks through stunning Himalayan landscape and explorations of wonderful towns.

Trekking to Santidham, you head through a traditional agricultural landscape then into pine and rhododendron forest. A stay in the beautiful town of Pokhara, meanwhile, includes a chance to experience a stunning Himalayan sunrise at Sarangkot, as well as visiting the Bindabashini Temple, Dav's Falls and a chance to go boating on Fewa Lake.

Moving on to Nagarkot, you will have one of Nepal's finest mountain views, taking in a clutch of the Himalaya's highest peaks including Sisapanma (8013m), Manaslu (8162m), Gaurishanker – and Everest (8848m), the world's highest mountain.

The city of Bhaktapur, meanwhile, showcases the traditional craft of wood-carving, as well as offering myriad historic sites such as the Lion Gate, local art gallery, the Palace Of 55 Windows, Batsala Temple and the intriguing Bell Of The Barking Dogs. The town's Durbar Square is also quite different to others in Nepal. All of which means you'll have plenty to talk about with your Nepalese hosts when your return for a final night at their house.
